As a Tree

As a Tree

thru a guided meditation

i became a tree

i remember the street i lived on

and all that i could see

my limbs branched out

far across the street

i watched the comings and goings

and sometimes waved to greet

i was so much taller

than those who moved below

would their awareness be as expansive

if they were able to grow?

Ladybug

Ladybug

there was a ladybug

floating in the pool

i swam back to check it

it was still alive

on a fingertip

the ladybug was lifted

and carried to the poolside

where her wings could dry

don’t ever negate

a simple act of kindness

even the tiny ones

have the power to express their thanks

for the rest of the day

i felt a tingling on that fingertip

bless the little ladybug

for having her say

Cabin Fever

Cabin Fever

long confinement

isolation from loved ones

weather, health reasons

locations and seasons

let us break away

from that cabin that confines us

let’s journey now

to the infinite space held within

here there’s no limit

to where we can travel

to experience new places

and with new perspectives begin
