Candle Lessons
the walls of wax ‘round the flame have grown
the wick and the flame have lengthened and shown
a flickering light, a dancing so tall
there are tears of wax streaming
down the inner walls
down the inner walls
as the melted liquid pours down to the centre
the candle is teaching us as our mentor
the fuel returns and settles the flame
and it now burns steady as if it is saying
i want to burn bright
i want to share my light
slow and steady
ready thus to be
