Earth Day
Heart of the Heavens
Heart of the Earth
sacred alignment
for all that was birthed
and as we reside here
on this planet of such beauty
may we enhance and honour
Earth’s hosting of diversity
life forms so diverse
landscapes that are breath-taking
seasons that change the setting
like a newly layered painting
may we walk on this Earth
bare foot whenever possible
may we celebrate Earth Day
every day as hospitable
hospitable she has been
yet we have unbalanced
the delicate harmonizing
of her orchestrated sun dance
may all life forms unite
and give thanks for creation
and may humans awaken
with joyful elation
to be, to be aware
of the gifts we are given
to live consciously on Earth
conscious of our every decision
and love
and honour
