Capture a Contagion
capture a contagion
before spreading it about
witness its presence
turn it inside out
could this be something harmful?
a belief or practice that’s easy to spread?
does it amplify the life we want
or do we assign it a code red?
don’t let others’ perspectives
influence who we want to be
emergency measures may be needed
to snuff out what we don’t want to seed

Tree Frogs
the tree frogs are speaking
there’s a chorus outside
multiple voices
saying we are alive
and then there is quiet
like they woke up too soon
the sky still holds darkness
no light of the moon
we welcome the silence
perhaps a little more sleep
drifting back into dreamtime
before the new day we meet

Constant
magical memories of the past and becoming
let them go
freed from thought
freed from remembering
what is then left?
a presence, a constant
no form or adornment
indestructible, infinite
a sacred statutory of existence
of permanence
no beginning, no end
the spirit of consciousness
savouring the simplicity
and the matter of co-existence
with All That Is
