happy new
every moment in time
celebrating the beauty
that life has to share
we measure and name
our measurements in time
minutes, hours and days
there are so many ways
to divide the infinite
by being conscious and aware
we have so much to share
there is nothing to compare
to the present moment

Ending Beginning
ending and beginning
are only just names
they don’t really exist
as we’ve come to know
there is a continuous flow
our spiritual presence
is here all the time
we only use words
trying to define
how we relate to time

Deer
small, spotted and sweet
tall, antlered and strong
even those deer that rein
at this time of year
four feet on the ground
poised ready to bound
startled by a sound
always alert
silent and present
gardeners oft lament
their seeking and eating
choice flowers and plants
the deer are abundant
thriving in nature
sharing our abundance
makes us a good neighbour
