Emotional Rhythms
embrace our emotions
allow them to be felt
sit hugging our knees
and rock ’til they melt
stand in one place
and stretch into the winds
feel the directions and pulling
then gather them in
move to the rhythms
let the body unfold
dance what its feeling
being expressive and bold
then return to the quiet
the place of repose
acknowledgement achieved
and the ability to let go
from a quietude within
returning to life we then go
allowing our emotional balance
to once again ebb and flow
