About Those Wings

and yes it is true, there is nothing to do
those bumps on their backs are not from backpacks
the children are growing wings, amazing things
no need to X-ray, they’ll continue to grow each day

and yes, a new wardrobe, newly designed clothes
they’ll want them to be flowing because of what they’re growing
the wings will also require they learn to be a flyer
and who will teach them? who knows how?

expand now the doorways, raise up the ceilings
honour their innocence, winged cupid sweet presence
for they are here to deliver, with arrows, bow and quiver
an anointment of love, goodwill and peace to all

The Magic of Children

quantum mechanics explains how they work
energetic, curious, always on the alert
presenting themselves into each day
a playground of opportunities, an endless buffet

the science of the very small, what is their behaviour?
how do they interact with the world and each other?
how is their energy able to muster
answering their challenges, limitless clusters?

thru a child’s eyes we see a new world
full of opportunity, beauty and togetherness swirled
fast tracking their focus, able to leap
into other adventures as newness they seek

nothing impossible, so many perspectives
how are they mobilized? what are their directives?
given the space and opportunity to play
children show leadership in a very special way

they are intensely inclusive in all that they do
wanting to share new ideas with you
sometimes quiet and thoughtful, or sensing the truth
then brilliantly connecting their thought forms as proof

weaving thru time frames, picking up dropped threads
able to maximize the distance they tread
wanting to show us as they grow and expand
they’re having fun and they know that we can

Hear My Vote

hear my vote
it is a child’s plea
hear my voice, it’s calling
please listen to me!

you brought me into being
into your world of love and dreams
and now it’s time to see me
as the future and the means

vote for what is real
for where we are right now
being informed by reality
listen, then know how

listen to your hearts
they always show us the way
then vote for those with passion
to transform, connect and stay

stay in the state where
nature is preserved
where natural balance results
from what is conserved

i don’t need the abundance
of more material things
i want a loving world
from what togetherness brings

what leadership is there
with collaborative design?
who believes that together
all solutions we can find?

i know they are out there
their voices have been hushed
seek deeply this alternative
before my world is mushed
