A Precious Continuing
here in the darkness
enclosed in the night
a brilliance. a warming
from the internal light
never extinguished
accessible to all
an important remembrance

Comprehensive
quality assertiveness
is brewing in the air
centred in resourcefulness
time to pull out the spare
examining our abundance
what have we to share?
what is needed by those who have nothing
do we dare compare?
do a comprehensive catalogue
then dig deep and share
time, knowledge, wisdom
precious gifts but not rare
sometimes it is money
sometimes a gift of food
to friends, family, neighbours
lock in to a generous mood
together we will move forward
isolated we starve
explore the unknown
so others can let down their guard
start within our own homes
or perhaps a neighbouring tent
joy comes from deep communication
what from heart to heart has meant
become now that shining light
be that angel that was heaven sent

Vote in the New
i have cast my vote
and given hope
to the youth and times beyond
our future sakes
have lots at stake
and the young must lead the way
confident and clear
know they will steer
a course so all may thrive
they are the new
and are here to do
old ways no longer apply
given our support
as their cohort
we’ll not just survive
we’ll thrive
