the heart always knows
no matter what comes and goes
it feels and responds
and strengthens our love bonds
heart’s truth is generic
expansive, all-inclusive
able to determine
what is or is not
the heart banks emotions
and radiates love
we learn to trust thru the heart
and all its experiences there of

Comfort Inn
there is always room
a place we can rest
we just need to call
and give our request
a place to slow down
to quiet the mind
to know we’re looked after
for this commitment cosigned
it is okay to rest
to step out of the traffic
to sleep and renew
so the next day is fantastic
the adventure will call
and find us again

Birth of the Day
waking up, stirring
there’s a shift in the air
a quiet still permeates
but there is new light out there
calling upon us
to rise up and see
the miracle of a dawning
and an invitation to be
present as the Sun rises
an event totally free
the Stars bowing out
to the Sun
