Mermaid Memories
the joy of being a mermaid
swimming down, down, down
and touching the bottom
turning
quick flips of the tail
propelled quickly upwards
breaking the surface
straight into the air
crashing down
and simply floating
a metaphor perhaps
energetically touching the heart of the Earth
propelled with her energies to the heavens above
then simply floating
being
living on the horizon
that space in between

when we were outdoors

free to simply explore
the freedom of openness
the freshness of being
in charge of our responses
to feeling and seeing
where did you go
when you went out to play?
let us get out in nature
and remember the way
of our childhoods
