Expatriated
we cannot be expatriated from family or Earth
it does not matter our origin of birth
we are here and in this together
let us come as One to the table

A Toast to the Most
we were invited to tea
to visit an elderly aunt
having been cautioned
she might not know us
oh but she did!
a lively conversation ensued
then she shared a gift of her values
and how life was to be viewed
our conversation included
a description of Ram Dass
and his well known teaching of
“love everyone”
our aunt picked up her tea mug
and led us in a toast
here’s to love everyone!

Waiting to Leave
patience, such patience
when waiting to leave
letting go of the physical
and all we believe
the presence of loved ones
eases the pain and the strain
whilst
their support and their honouring
holds opens the doorway
thru which we once came
