the secret to finding emptiness
is not to compare
comparisons take you back to the past
let us haul it all in and store as the old
readied for a new net to be cast

Re-Begin
let us focus on gratitude
not be drawn back to past guilt or shame
emotions are best to remain current
there is no one to blame
emotional experience
is a gift to humanity
it teaches us to discern
by feeling so that we learn
we learn to change how we respond
when patterns repeat
old ways that didn’t work
we can simply delete
what is best for us
is also best for others
new beginnings for humanity
are ours to discover
let us re-begin

Thanks and Giving
we celebrate this time of Thanksgiving
a time of the harvest, of abundance
a time to express our gratitude
for the All
that has brought this plentitude
in this giving of thanks
there is more to explore
perhaps to consider
the art of giving
the gift of a kind word
the offer of assistance
expressions of appreciation
encouragement for persistence
simple companionship
being there for another
giving a hug to our sister
and brother
sharing the humour
that crops up in life
being there to listen deeply
to friend, husband or wife
sharing our abundance in all forms
it feels so good to give
may we practice this as
our way live
our practice of love
