capturing metaphors
is a way that we learn
patterns emerging
can be used to discern
we are shown examples
that paint a picture of how
our own situations exist
and what we allow
once we have seen
where we are and have been
we can choose how to respond
moving into the beyond

Anywhere
global indifference is still rampant today
even with advanced communication systems
that penetrate and monitor our suffering and may
give us opportunities to address what’s at play
humanity is equipped to deal with personal suffering
but global fear and hatred is what we’re uncovering
even the surveys that ask for our response
give political parties a measurement from what is ensconced
can we risk not addressing global issues out there?
will ignoring the pain, the death, the total injustice
affect peoples’ votes when we are on the cuspis
of an election?
we are in this together
global peace and happiness
is for all of us to address
our vote
is not remote

Let the Mind Rest
let the mind rest
when it starts to complain
know the heart is in charge
and can pull in the reins
a run away mind
confuses the path
too many questions
always doing the math
our hearts are the champions
how we celebrate life
experiencing the movement
of love and of light
