Paraguay

Paraguay
this country wants to have a say
land-locked
surrounded by others
a past history of wars
with a motto of peace and justice
Paraguay is a developing country
considered poor
life expectancies are more
than in many others
and on the happiness scale
they prevail
as the happiest peoples
worth asking why
their aboriginal cultures
values and languages prevail
diversity and continuity
living mostly rurally
this is their stability
they are not poor at their core
may we learn from them
living more
for thru this door
is happiness

Temperance
temperance is a virtue
the middle path or way
a field of life’s experiences
teach us what to hold at bay
with growth of personal integrity
temptation no longer exists
a desire to live with balance
is a natural beingness that persists
in these times of self-discovery
taking time to seek within
we feel into our self-perspectives
in-tune and re-begin
