a glow in the dark
a candle, an ember
a cloud-shrouded moon
all metaphors to remember
the glow of our love
when darkness surrounds
is a guiding light for others

Brother Sun Sister Moon
today we were witnessed
by the whole of the Moon
her face never turned away
and never will soon
a year of Earth’s revolution
a revolution ‘round the Sun
is the same as Moon’s day
a great teacher of cycles and patterns
Moon has always watched over us
and as a sister she is engendered
by the love of Mother Earth
reflecting back brother Sun’s promise
of humanity’s rebirth
