In the Spin

In the Spin

the spin of this planet is polar in nature
the north and the south holding the axis points
in the north the spin is clockwise in nature
in the south, too, all points turning, seeking the sun

to live on this planet we can be positioned at the equator
it’s a long, long journey to travel to the next day
to those in the arctics the journey is different
and a benefit from the slow way they spin?

now spin in

in the stable arctic short spin cycles
it’s a place conducive to the journey within
equatorial spin is the full planet’s circumference
the centrifugal force at its strongest
as a result of the spin
faster and
faster
spin
like
a
top

all make the journey in 24 hours
all face the east as the sun starts to rise
but what is the effect of the distance so travelled
and what is the sense of being
circular wise?

it is easy to launch from equatorial platforms
it’s easy to visit the far reaching realms
lift off is experienced by the explorer
a freeing of spirit for those
at the helms

A Wonderful World

A Wonderful World
precious is the rainbow arcing o’re the sky
precious are the puffy clouds softly floating by
and oh to see reflections on the stillness of a lake
there’s a swelling of the heart just for beauty’s sake
the scented garden beckons, roses in full bloom
the chirping of the crickets rise with heat of afternoon
the blazing sunrise then sunset colour glows all around
the honking of the geese as Vs flying soon southbound
blessed are the raindrops falling from the sky
lifting up aromas of a parched ground by and by
rustling of the winds amongst the leaves of many trees
grasses softly carpeting the ground with spreading ease
majestic are the mountains rising from afar
the ice and snow’s insistence their time is coming once more
rolling dry expanses softened by pleasant resting shadows
elsewhere there’s a flatness, steepness ending in mystic plateaus
the ever changing spectacle of the moving oceans
multi greys and blues and greens stir our own emotions
the great beauty of this created realm is a constant reminder
we give thanks to a wonderful world
we don’t have to seek to find her
for we are part of our world
wonder filled and full
of gratitude
for all that is

For the Children Everywhere

For the Children Everywhere

we are responsible for the children everywhere
they are ours to protect and look after
children are our gifts to the future
precious commodities to value and nurture

commodities not to be bought and sold, unspeakable
but of such value as to be immeasurable
the children know the truth and can see it
we must honour their sight and be it

honour the way the children want us to be
ever present and engaged with them
sharing our stories and giving opportunities
opportunities to be all that they are

let us not live thru our children for all we are not
let our children live their own lives supported
let us collaborate to support each child
supporting the children in their becoming

the art of becoming savours freedom
freedom of expression, freedom of creativity
and the art of becoming flourishes with togetherness
much sharing of perspectives to build the new

building the new, who knew this would be
this would be our children’s playground
let us make this playground safe, accessible to all children
a playground spacious, seeded for their imaginations

the imaginations of the blossoming children
so capable of seeing the solutions to the world that is
so eager to inoculate the world with their love and hope
“it is easy”, they will say, for that is how their minds work

for the children everywhere
we give our love
for the children everywhere
we give our time
for the children everywhere
we honour you
blessed be our future, combined
