Remembering the Remembered
what we retain is precious
what we let go of
is now gone
to reminisce, become aware of
is often triggered
by a sense
a scent, a colour, a vibration
a key that unlocks
what a remembrance meant

Our Nation
the roots of a nation
let us call it the Earth
seen from the Moon
a new perspective was birthed
this beautiful sphere
cloaked in water and land
had no divisions, no borders
drawn in the sand
there was freedom to flow
from one pole to another
the only restrictions might be
the seasons or weather
how can we ever
control lives’ migration
now we understand the whole Earth
is our home and our nation?

beyond our imaginings
beyond what we want
beyond what we’ve been told
beyond what we’ve spawned
surrendered, in service
we know it is time
we have been called
to this immortal time
