from playground to playground
wanting to be happy
asking others to join in the play
new ways to move and dance
actively throughout each day

a hesitation in describing
something that represents so much
a totem is a messenger
to generations on the cusp
the guidance that is offered
be it in writing or carved in wood
is carried thru many lifetimes
by oral traditions or
by where it stood
