ready to stand for
the truth that was untold
now an inspiration
to never give up
we all make a difference

a poem dedicated to the life & legacy of Alexei Navalny
Eagle Knew
once hatched, still safe
now cared for in its nest
dependant on the nurturing
eaglet’s parents temporary guest
taught many skills, developing sight
young eagle grows to its parents’ delight
then soon tests its wings readying to take flight
as new freedom sings, a calling to take off and fly
there’s a seeking for answers to how, where and why
Eagle leaves to explore the heavens before landing on Earth
then after having seen the whole picture, Eagle is ready to birth
new ways-communication-knowing its destination-it too will birth the new

we have been incubating
our visions and desires
so many holding these
as the obsolete expires
how long ’til the hatching?
how long in the nest?
with loving attention and patience
time will do the rest
