quiet and calm
a retreat into emptiness
where love is the soul’s balm
regenerative powers
take over to heal
seeking out the damaged
the obsolete and unreal
spine seeking freedom
cellular memories erased
an aura igniting
from that sacred inner space
a time of renewal
until all is complete
readying to enter into
the new world we all seek

Amassed
the amassed good fortune
of humanity’s treasures
goes to the very heart of
being able to love
beyond measure
and yet there is suffering
of those we can’t reach
who are lost in the control
of the ones who preach
inequality
may this be the year
when we move beyond fear
may we seek to define
love
joy
peace
and gratitude
as the elements of creation
bringing us into right relation
with all that is
