a way of accounting
and tracking where we belong
 
day by day, week by week
the months and years of lives we’ve lived
do we take the time to read the patterns
or do we just continue on instead?

a restlessness, a yearning
an uneasiness equates
into a question
what is it that awaits?
 
are our lifetimes pre-determined
yet there are choice-points along the way?
like a child’s book where you choose options
and with the story inter-play
 
what blocks us from exploring
those new opportunities to grow?
this life-time is a treasure chest
for what we seek and want to know
 
what are the beliefs and the patterns
that control what we decide?
it is so very important
we know what it is on which we have relied
