rising women, let it be known
out of their cages
into freedom they’ve flown
capture the essence of all they have been
recorded, experienced, all that they’ve seen
with strength and resolve to change the old ways
they’re gathering, sharing and counting the days
the days and the hours that it will take now to spread
from woman to woman, across the ground that we tread
from sister to sister, crossing oceans and plains
what are they sharing? what are the gains?
thru silence and stillness, often witnesses they’ve been
now they’re emerging, no longer unseen
they ready to hold hands creating a web
and we will all listen to what will be said
they know that the suffering, the suffering has grown
from controls, dominance, imbalances we’ve known
so to step into the light and see, be the change
will take every woman who’s no longer estranged
estranged from the future, the future that can be
where her children, grandchildren can truly be free
where life on this planet is honoured and kept
free from pollution and balance is reset
where the sharing of goods becomes local again
and healthcare and education are easy to attain
where beauty is enhanced on every inch of the Earth
where there is a total renewal, a total rebirth
women are rising for they always birth the new
and from heart to heart they are calling to you
gather the wisdom, the love that you’ve known
for those are the seeds that are about to be sown
