Sometimes We are Called
Sometimes We are Called
sometimes we are called
and we know when to accept
it’s not really a choice
we’ve been prepared and are adept
in part it is a mystery
perhaps excitement too
yet the calling is for service
what we all came here to do
was this all pre-planned
out of space and out of time
was this new challenge a gift
that came all silver-lined?
what qualities do we bring
to that place we’ve been called to?
what role is waiting there
for us to expand into and do?
abound with blessings
as we gathered to leave
heeding the call
for the new to inter-weave

St. Julian of Norwich
how can we speak our prayer?
begin in the emptiness
then explore layer upon layer
the emptiness is a space to fill
being in silence, ever so still
we are greeted by the gift of our free-will
and from this place we can begin
to enter into prayer and slowly let in
the grace and beauty of a heaven that’s here
co-creating with God’s love to steer
our course, our journey beyond all fear
to a place of peace, then to speak and hear
and sing with joy that the gift of prayer
ignites our role as a creative player
in what’s being built, layer upon layer
a pearl of love – we cannot weigh her
for the expansion is continuous
the growth immense
the power of love overpowering each fence
uniting neighbours, lightening the dense
growing and sowing a new way to live
wanting to be love and simply give
with kindness and gentleness
and gratitude too
every prayer from me is a prayer for you
a recipe that can be improved, that is the truth
by adding more love, it is fail proof
