Wings
picture your wings
and the feeling that brings
able to fly
and rise up
the angelic presence
a halo that glows
a presence of love
so strong that it flows
flowing to all
that our vision can see
hearing the calls
of any in need
an angelic presence
exists in our hearts
for we were all birthed
as pure love from the start

Standing Out 
standing out
standing tall
above and have witnessed
humanity’s fall
so many angels
have arrived here to be
seeding the future
so we can be free
understand and forgive them
when their smiles seem so few
there is a seriousness felt
with so much work they must do
please do not mock them
attack or criticize
they know what they are here for
they are ancient and wise
they come into this lifetime
and can be hard on themselves
striving for perfection
drawing from very deep wells
the wells of remembrance
they will smile when it’s fun
we can all help them
until their work is all done
love and peace
honour and respect
strength and beauty
a living world to protect

amazing to look back on
to understand it now
captured by the artist
a sensitive child

the eyes tell the story
the posture does too
a child sat to be captured
and the artist then was too
the artist had suffered
the loss of one that she loved
the child felt it deeply
who was this portrait of?
it could be called a self-portrait
the artist didn’t know
her gift of illustrating
was of herself it would show
the portraits of four children
two before and two to come
showed the before and the after
and what her emotions had done
a portrait of understanding
in how our emotions affect others too
a gift from an artist
who really never knew
