Mother Earth
today we pledge our lives to you
for the future of all life
we have lived because of you
and now suffer from our neglect
paramount to our future world
is acknowledgement of our faults
we cannot ignore our past behaviours
now we have emptied out your vaults
capricious now, we the many get it
the ways and means exist
we will work together with love and joy
and start checking off our list
no more fossil fuels
no more sourcing from afar
no more pollution of air, water and land
no more waste
a sharing of our abundance
a caring for our health
equal access to education
a new appreciation of our wealth
our wealth is in our abilities
we each have gifts to share
let us emerge and create a tidal surge
showing our Mother how we care
