In the Corner

In the Corner
if all was curved
there’d be no corners
a continual flow
‘round and ‘round
or into the distance
following a curve
an easy way to go
but what if there is
an abrupt change in direction
there is a slowing of movement
or you have hit the wall
a pause and a choice here
to stop, stay or go back
perhaps to go sideways
and explore a new road

Red to Orange

Red to Orange
it was a day to collect our canoe, not used in the last few years
the canoe on the roof rack looks so different now
exterior faded from red to orange, almost pink
weathered, faded, yet structurally strong
and the inside, protected, is the same as ever
red, shining new – it had been hidden from view
always stored flipped over so as not to collect debris
all a metaphor to some degree
what have we been hiding from view?
is it time to return to right-side up
show up with that inner beauty
head back to the waters
and paddle on?

Carry-Thru

Carry-Thru
a carry-thru
from day to day
focuses on love
and how we play
playing with
the love response
we’re having fun
and nonchalant
