let us focus on gratitude
not be drawn back to past guilt or shame
emotions are best to remain current
there is no one to blame
emotional experience
is a gift to humanity
it teaches us to discern
by feeling so that we learn
we learn to change how we respond
when patterns repeat
old ways that didn’t work
we can simply delete
what is best for us
is also best for others
new beginnings for humanity
are ours to discover
let us re-begin
