Conflaguration
tuning in
to the loss thru the fires
conflagration has devoured
whole areas, whole empires
a day at a time
living aware
the present, the past
we can no longer compare
a metaphor
to leaving so much behind
we are now seeking
a direct route to the divine

stolen from our future
lost in the past
our right to have freedom
has now been recast
the gateways have opened
we are caught up in the flow
so many choices
to where we may choose to go

setting the stage
