Unpeeled
the layers of protection
can be unpeeled to the core
and the heart of the bulb
can be exposed forever more
the bulb will then sprout
unfettered, released
for protection’s not needed
when all fearing is ceased

the mystery still lingers
perhaps better that way
to leave something unsaid
let’s another have their say
the unsaid holds a tension
the pregnant pause
the untold
and when held in the heart
it allows more to unfold
