A Good Sleep
a beautiful ping sound pierces my sleep
a few minutes later there is a repeat
a struggle to wake up and a wondering now
what is this message in the middle of the night?
two hours later i have found my phone and have read
then couldn’t believe what the message had said
have a good sleep, if only they knew
that is exactly what i was hoping to do
too tired to plug in or turn off my phone
a lesson was learnt and expressed with a moan
now i’m up writing well before what’s the norm
might as well choose to welcome this morn
