A Vision of Suffering
a vision of suffering
woke me this morn
an artificial face
from the one that was born
someone well known
a teacher of sorts
had altered their face
false beauty contorts
no longer compassion
or love can be seen
life’s journey erased
its expression unseen
as if now a mask
that covers the soul
a purposeful change
what was their goal?
seeking perfection
in a vehicle still new?
the importance of how
others see them as true?
perhaps of importance
is how we see ourselves
without total acceptance
into suffering one delves
beware of this pathway
for it leads one astray
and can constantly cause one
to fix what’s not “okay”
