To Serve
let us not miss the boat
let us stay always afloat
may the heart be our remote
to navigate each boat
in this flotilla of missionaries
our mission is to serve
in the newness reserve
having the courage, yes the nerve
to challenge all that does not serve
in the blossoming of our future
let the new now be born
let us work to transform
as we sail thru this storm
rebuilding from the lost and forlorn
creating new modules to completeness
as artists of creation

Emotional Rhythms
embrace our emotions
allow them to be felt
sit hugging our knees
and rock ’til they melt
stand in one place
and stretch into the winds
feel the directions and pulling
then gather them in
move to the rhythms
let the body unfold
dance what its feeling
being expressive and bold
then return to the quiet
the place of repose
acknowledgement achieved
and the ability to let go
from a quietude within
returning to life we then go
allowing our emotional balance
to once again ebb and flow

Freshness
the front door was left open
a good part of the day
it got a new coat
to freshen up and display
what a difference it made
to what we were breathing in
the fresh air flushed out
all that had been held within
a fire was lit
to hold the warmth of the home
and freshness of the cool air
was free to roam
