Peace Corps

Peace Corps

revisit the peace corps and all it can be
for many experience its global ability
an ability to connect and profoundly affect
the lives of the suffering, lest we forget

our world is a mix of the haves and have nots
all with an abundance of co-singular thoughts
experiencing the challenges that others endure
the way to bring balance and understanding for sure

conflict arises when life is too hard
often thru generations some will be scarred
often it’s political and power misused
ignoring the sufferers is how they’re abused

enter the peace corps and the clear vision of youth
they carry such compassion and are the living proof
of how to bring justice and opportunities to all
in every corner of this world, may they answer the call

We Were the Dead

inspired by this poem In Flanders Fields,
written by Major John McCrae, May 1915, WWI

In Flanders fields the poppies blow
Between the crosses, row on row,
That mark our place; and in the sky
The larks, still bravely singing, fly
Scarce heard amid the guns below.
We are the Dead. Short days ago
We lived, felt dawn, saw sunset glow,
Loved and were loved, and now we lie
In Flanders fields.
Take up our quarrel with the foe:
To you from failing hands we throw
The torch; be yours to hold it high.
If ye break faith with us who die
We shall not sleep, though poppies grow
In Flanders fields.

We Were the Dead

we were the dead
we’ve returned to be
an expansion of consciousness
we can see

we see the emergence
away from war
a continuous journey
from the pain we bore

blessed are those
who caught the torch
caring for all with love exports

n’er be the conclusion
of the conflict we see
until in our hearts
we totally be

Love

A Lesson of Great Beauty

A Lesson of Great Beauty

a lesson of great beauty was shared this oneness day
offered to a discussion about what’s keeping peace at bay
a suggestion was shared that the reason is exclusion
and small pockets of peace is a sort of illusion

to become a peaceful planet it will require inclusion
an understanding that all of us are part of the whole
and a picture was painted on how to achieve this
here is the model that all can implement as a goal

when a group or a sector gather together
setting parameters or boundaries around what they’ve believed
they purposely or automatically exclude some others
and even wanting peace, this will not be achieved

those who are excluded yet wanting to participate
have a way to do so by a much more effective means
seeing that they sit outside of that circle
they can encircle or ensphere it with a much larger memes

this is the way of inclusion
it is the solution
the way to peace
the way we can be

let us model it now
and start with our families
let us reach out to friends
with an intention that mends

let us take down the fences
the walls that divide us
let us share our divisions
those thoughts that divide

let us celebrate differences
and honour uniqueness
let us share from our hearts
this is how to survive

and let us revive
that dream of the future
peace on earth
and add
thru goodwill to all
