a symbol of love
is it a heart?
where did it come from?
where did it start?
’twas always a feeling
felt in the chest
a flooding, a sensing
of what we love best
this is a gift
one we seek and embellish
the story of our lives
the parts that we relish
so the greatest symbol of love
is to be this that we are
the emotion of love
can be felt from afar

there is no place or time
for artificial love
it is what our hearts align to
it is that flow from above
above on Earth can mean
any direction we might choose
for love is what we’re made of
its with this surround-sound we’re infused
even in our relationships
we can feel where true love exists
it cannot be pretended
it is a oneness that persists

let us understand
we need not pursue
just live from our hearts
in all that we do
to pursue something
takes focus and energy
to be something
is to be awake, alive
our excellence exists
when we are compassionate
and loving
