Honouring Water

Honouring Water
dip your hands in water
wash off your face
finger tips wet with water
smoke from snuffed candle wick erased
house plants will tell us
when they are thirsty
and what would we do without water
when something is dirty?
let’s make a game of it
and name Water as we use it
more than a precious commodity
it absorbs our emotions – let’s infuse it
water infused
with our love
and appreciation
blessed be
let’s make tea

Owl Returns

Owl Returns
in the early morning hours
there was a hoot, hoot, hoot
three hoots, three times
twice for Owl returned
it feels important
soon the day of Owl
will become the day of Earth
is the wise one reminding us
it is the time of re-birth?
shedding her old skin
the Earth is rearranging
humanity’s ability to adapt
can enhance all that is changing
the beauty of each garden
the planting of the new
the waste not/want not
embraced in all we do
thank you Owl we hear you
and before you click on mute
we want you to hear us
we also give a hoot!

A Symbol of Love

A Symbol of Love
a symbol of love
is it a heart?
where did it come from?
where did it start?
’twas always a feeling
felt in the chest
a flooding, a sensing
of what we love best
this is a gift
one we seek and embellish
the story of our lives
the parts that we relish
so the greatest symbol of love
is to be this that we are
the emotion of love
can be felt from afar
