Password to Death

Password to Death
the password to death is giving up
and sometimes its a gentle surrender up
there is a resistance to discuss or write about death
yet its eminence is as near as our last breath
if a plant starts to whither and to wilt
its life is nurtured by attention, not by guilt
we sit in a room, aware it’s full of belongings
do the plants and the books also not have longings?
the attention we give to all with which we live
nurtures a relationship and the importance of to give
to live a full life with no regrets
is a life full of love and what love begets
to simply be noticed and appreciated as is
gives a sense of belonging and that ’tis
the gift of the living, to love and be loved
to appreciate the beauty and the connections thereof
splendid is life, let us live it as though
every opportunity to love gifts an opportunity to sow
the gift of receiving and the feeling of being seen
so that all who meet death
will understand what life

Other Side of the Veil

Other Side of the Veil
does it exist?
how does it work?
systems analysis
reality’s quirk
we’re told the veil is thinning
is this an end or a beginning?
does it exist as a one-way mirror?
can we also have vision that’s clear?
could we be painting the picture
on the other side?
building the structures?
bringing them alive?
doing this blindly
but with good intent
in this sightless time
just what is meant?
perhaps the challenge
is to bring balance here first
to raise love’s vibrations
so all are immersed
immersed in the love
in a oneness we share
then maybe we’ll recognize
and merge with what’s there

Apples and Oranges

Apples and Oranges

the fruits of our labours
diverse in form
bring forth the beauty
of uniqueness that’s born

although very different
colour, shape and size
all have their gifts
beauty’s enterprize

delivering their flavours
and the seeds of the future
colourful textures and their juices
are life giving boosters

some stand alone
all can be mixed
inviting creation
of a fruit salad that depicts

a blending, a collaborative
each enhancing another
creating much more
for the unique new mix lover

and where are they found
these fruits of creation?
locations as diverse as
their flavourful orchestration

the apples so sweet
come from the temperate zone
the oranges, heat loving
in the warm zones they’re grown

times are a changing
micro climates can be created
new types can be grown
new locations populated

apples, oranges and others
don’t need to be compared
their beauty is unique
and enhanced when it’s shared
