Face Tells All

Face Tells All

happy, energized, vibrant
so alive, ageless, engaged
we can see the passion in ourselves as we’re speaking
it is mirrored on the screen, group calls, we’re on stage

and it wasn’t until very recently
when having to leave one call for another
that next call had a much different energy
returning to the first call the contrast was then seen

my face looked so totally different
the energy that i had stepped into had felt destructive
what only minutes of exposure had done was so shocking
having had no idea of how expressive our own face could be

the story is now told
 the face tells all for others to see
to see ourselves leads to a recovery
and a knowing of how we want to be

Candle Talk

Candle Talk

slid open the match box
3 fell to the floor
the box was upside down
could have dropped more

first lit a new candle
but wanted to finish the last
so took from the waste basket
a used match and relit the past

the wick was quite buried
in the wax that was there
and it burnt out quite quickly
not enough wick to spare

a new match was lit
it too went out
the third match found no wick
it dropped burning into the wax
becoming a wick by itself

off to find a new candle
and press it into the soft wax
there was a metaphor here
and these are its facts

watch for the hints
when something goes astray
let it play out
it has something to say

don’t try to extend
something ready to end
use its reservoir as fuel
anchoring the new
using it to transcend

on the side let there burn
a light of remembrance
ready to ignite
a fresh re-assemblance
that lights a new way

once the new candle was lit
before side candle was put away
the whole room brightened up
now readied for play

One Eleven

One Eleven

a return to the beach
after many weeks
the stones were still there
in perfect symmetry

aligned north, south, east, and west
they had continued to rest
a circle of 12 stones
someone had borrowed
to hold
their small camp fire

gently cleared away and re-spaced
the stones were having their say
now 19 formed the ring
for they wanted to sing
their new song

stepped back to view
and with curiousity too
their alignment had shifted
my phone’s compass then gifted
all aligned to 111
an easterly direction

this morning my meditation was done
not facing the sun
but to One Eleven
on this day of offering and number 7
a Tzolk’in alignment

what this may mean to you
with your own perspective or view
is important to observe
we are awakening

we have arrived
a new stage
let our performance begin
consciously
let us be love
